This is a required registration for the 2023-2024 year. Classes run from September- May and your first class invoice will be sent in September. Please note, this is a NON-REFUNDABLE and NON-TRANSFERABLE registration fee and will not be refunded for any reason. This fee MUST be paid to attend any classes at The Learning Habitat. Beginning Bookworms is an intensive phonics program designed for emergent readers and spellers. This is a level 1 Orton Gillingham class. Each week a new letter/sound will be introduced and practiced through a kinesthetic approach to promote reading and spelling.

**$150 per month, September through May.** You will receive an invoice from October through May for $150 per month to participate in this class. One registration fee per learner is required to register for this or any class.

This group focuses on nature-based ecology and environmental biology with additional lessons in natural history and nature journaling. Every lesson is structured through an environmental education framework and is intended to take place outside (weather permitting) or through hands-on indoor activities. Seedlings will be very sensory focused as we explore the sights, sounds, and feelings of nature. Learners will have the opportunity to be creative, play games, and ask lots of questions. Let's get close with our world around us with Ms. Emma, our "naturalist-in-residence". 

We will be continuing our elementary age quest through the Old Testament to Jesus. We will look at prophesies of Jesus in the Prophets and then focus on the life of Jesus, the Messiah. This class will work for those who will continue, but would also be good for those who were not in the previous study.

Peaceful Readers is a level 1 Orton Gillingham class designed for emergent readers and spellers. This class is unique in that it also incorporates yoga exercises to help the children improve their focus, concentration, and physical well-being. By the end of the course, students will have a better understanding of letter sounds, basic phonics, and simple words, while also gaining a sense of calm and balance through yoga. This class is an excellent way for young children to learn, grow, and have fun at the same time.

**$450 per month, September through May.** You will receive an invoice from October through May for $450 per month to participate in this class. One registration fee per learner is required to register for this or any class.

This four-hour class is perfect for age 4 through lower level First Grade, and is based on learning through play. The curriculum will follow developmentally appropriate goals and objectives for children within four main categories of interest: social/emotional, physical, cognitive and language. The goal is to help promote independence, self-confidence and a love of learning. We will go outside everyday, maybe multiple times, even in the rain. We will explore, get dirty and go on adventures! I have a love of children’s literature that I hope to share with your children. Our literacy exploration will lead to learning the alphabet, letter sounds and even early reading. Math and science will be hands-on. We will learn that we can all be little scientists with fun, messy experiments! I am excited to create rich environments for learning, and forge strong home-school connections. It will be a GREAT year!
