Seedlings will be very sensory focused as we explore the sights, sounds, and feelings of nature. Learners will have the opportunity to be creative, play games, and ask lots of questions. Let's get close with our world around us with Ms. Emma, our "naturalist-in-residence".

This group is for children who know most of their letter names, the sounds they make and can write them with independence. In this multi-sensory approach based on Orton Gillingham practices, my friends will learn to blend and segment 3 letter words and decode words containing digraphs (sh, th, wh, ch), consonant blends and learn about “magic e”. We’ll build words with magnetic letters, word sorts, games and hand on activities while increasing vocabulary and learning to read our new word patterns and high fluency words in both poetry and text. Students will become more confident with conquering increasingly difficult texts by relying on their knowledge of word patterns. They’ll begin to retain and expand on ideas from texts they read through simple writing and oral comprehension activities.

We will also learn about different naturalist writers.
