This four-hour class is perfect for age 4 through lower level First Grade, and is based on learning through play. The goal is to help promote independence, self-confidence and a love of learning. We will go outside everyday, maybe multiple times, even in the rain. We will explore, get dirty and go on adventures! I have a love of children’s literature that I hope to share with your children. Our literacy exploration will lead to learning the alphabet, letter sounds and even early reading. Math and science will be hands-on. We will learn that we can all be little scientists with fun, messy experiments! Mini Einsteins will focus on learning number and operations in base ten, place value, addition,subtraction, measurement, data, time, money, and basic geometry. While learning these topics, we will create a craft to go with the topic.

The Woodland Writers will gather in the woods to unplug from screens and technology, relax and explore in nature, while expressing ourselves through our writing. We will learn how to write good sentences that turn into great stories. We will learn about two different writing styles; persuasive and descriptive in a fun stress free environment. We will also learn about different naturalist writers. 

This class is designed to cover basic writing skills, along with word study, blending sounds, and sight word recognition. Curriculum will change a bit to accommodate returning students. Each student will be challenged at their individual needs.

This Kid’s Beginner sewing class is for ages 7-11. We will learn different kinds of stitches such as a straight stitch, back stitch. chain stitch,  blanket stitch, etc . We will be doing hand sewing, embroidery projects, cross stitching and candle wicking. Our projects will include, felt animals, embroidery protects, hand sewing a pillow, a scrunchie,  drawstring tote bag and more!

With 90% of science and technology being derived from Latin (and about 50% of everyday words), learning the basics can help all students increase vocabulary and enjoy sleuthing out long words. This class is full of games, stories and practice for non-stop fun. Poetry is a beautiful art form meant to be experienced- preferably with a warm cup of tea and a snack. Returning students will enjoy sharing our favorites from the 22/23 book of collected poems, while new and old students will help us create a 23/24 book of favorites. Learners will need a lunch and water bottle.

 This two-hour class will be filled with instruction and activities. This class will be designed around the needs of the students and what concepts that need more attention. OPTIONAL Spectrum Math workbook for either grade 5 or 6 can be used for reinforcement (or another similar resource). Content includes: decimals, fractions, operation with rational number, proportions and percentages.
